Laszlo Stündl graduated from Debrecen Agricultural University Faculty of Agronomy (predecessor of University Debrecen) as Agriculturist (M.Sc. equivalent) majoring in Aquaculture and fisheries and as certified English-Hungarian agricultural technical translator in 1995. He received Ph.D. degree in Animal production science in the field of inland fisheries management, stock assessment and population dynamics in 2002. He started to work for the Faculty in 2003 as assistant lecturer, where he is continuously employed since - now as associate professor. Between 2007 – 2012 he was the executive manager of the Debrecen University owned “Debrecen Agro-centre” Innovation Nonprofit Ltd., where his task were the coordination of project development and management, resource funding, consortium building for RTD and innovation and the management of scientific and technological park (Debrecen Science Park). Since 2013 he is the vice dean for scientific affairs of Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management, responsible for the coordination of RTD and innovation activities of the Faculty, project generation and management, acquisition of resources and funding as well as consortium building. Since January 2017 he is the head of the Institute for Food Technology where he is leading 8 academic, 1 administrative staff and 6 PhD students. The Institute is coordinating the activities of a small-scale food processing facility (600 m2 floorspace) including meat processing, dairy, vegetable and fruit processing, mill, bakery and pasta production units. He mentored 20 postgraduate, 23 M.Sc. and 7 PhD students and was involved in 107 scientific publications of which 16 having 42 citations. His achievement (JRC impact factor) is 7,169. In the past 20 years he was leading expert, coordinator or supervisor of 7 international and 34 national funded educational, RTD and development projects in the fields of agriculture, food industry, renewable energy environmental management and biodiversity conservation & enhancement, aquaculture and fisheries, aquatic resources management. In his scarce freetime Laszlo is a competitive sportsailor (Dragon class) and visits the nearby hunting and sportfishing grounds.
