Bemutatkozás:

A Debreceni Egyetem egyik legrégebbi – megalapításától kezdve működő – intézete a Földrajzi Intézet volt, mely tanszékünk jogelődje. Dr. Milleker Rezső, egyetemünk első Földrajzi Intézetének 1914-től 1945-ig volt vezető professzora, emberföldrajzosnak tartotta magát, s döntően a társadalomföldrajz témakörébe illeszkedő kutatásokkal foglalkozott. Politikatörténeti tanulmányokat írt, település- és népességföldrajzi vizsgálatot tett közé a Székelyföldről, de érdeklődéssel fordult más népek, kisebbségek problémái felé is. Fontos személyisége volt a magyar geopolitikai szakmai közéletnek.
